Three Swallow Dives
Irish national diving champions perform breath-taking swallow dives from the 10-metre platform at Blackrock Baths, Co. Dublin. From left to right are Billy Morrison, Val Demery and Eddie Heron. The Annual Gala of the Sandycove Club was generally a two-night affair with swimming, water polo and diving. Diving featured international spring and high-board diving, as well as the ever-popular comedy and fancy dress diving performances by home and visiting divers.
By kind permission of Billy Morrison and thanks to Manolo Demery.

Irish Rainfall Distribution 1961-90
Rainfall rates are not the only things that influence water availablitly. Factors such as higher temperatues also dry the ground up and lessen the amount of water available to us. It is predicted that climate change will alter the distribution of rainfall on our island in the future.
