Minister Bruton announced plans to ensure implementation of the government's Climate Action Plan

The Climate Action Plan, first published back in June, includes over 180 actions, and many more sub actions, to guide Ireland towards a sustainable future in a carbon zero world. Ensuring the implementation of these actions is a major task, and to enable that the minister has established a Delivery Board, which includes members from numerous departments across the government, to guide the project along.

The Board will be chaired jointly by the Secretary General to the Government and the Secretary General of the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment, and will present a delivery report to both the Cabinet Committee and the Cabinet. These will also be published on a quarterly basis.

The Board will also discuss and review key strategic projects and areas of work, such as establishing a new model for retrofitting, to identify barriers, challenges, and key lessons to date.
