An Afternoon in the Park: Denis Burke Park, Clonmel, Co Tipperary

Public amenity ideas and design consultation, spring clean and cake……..

An Afternoon in the Park
no restrictions

SuirCan Community Forum invites all those interested in the future of Denis Burke Park for an Afternoon in the Park next Saturday 28th April from 2.30pm onwards for a couple of hours for an on-site Park Design Consultation, followed by a Park Spring Clean Blitz.  Clonmel Borough Council will be giving the park a face-lift over the coming year. SuirCan, as a voluntary community organisation, has the task of bringing together different community groups and interested people to gain as much input, comments and thoughts as possible into the ideas for and design of Denis Burke Park before a new design for the park is drawn up.  SuirCan have invited a number of groups and key people to join in as it is important to get the most wide-ranging input possible at this point in the remaking of this unique green amenity for the town.

We will be assisted on the day by the ever-enthusiastic Clonmel Scouts Group. So you will find us in the Park under a tent or marquee, rain or shine, and all are welcome to bring along and share some cake and other eats and treats, especially if it is a good day to enjoy the spring atmosphere of the Park. This is a chance to reacquaint ourselves with the Park that is once again open to the public after the recent flood relief works and an opportunity for the people of Clonmel to contribute to the improvement and shared enjoyment of the Park which is a fantastic riverside amenity that belongs to us all.  SuirCan will be taking the design concepts and ideas further, presenting them to the Borough Council with the intention that some of the ideas can be implemented by this summer.  The more peoples’ input, the more the Park will become a true people’s Park, so do come along for an Afternoon in the Park.
