Salmon live in the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.

Irish salmon comes from the Atlantic Ocean. They stay in the freshwater rivers when they are young. After about 3 years, they leave the river to swim to the ocean. Here, they grow into adults. Later in life, they return to the same river to lay their eggs.

In Ireland, salmon are often bred on salmon farms.
