Vacancy: Assistant Librarian, Houses of the Oireachtas

Closing date: 8th September 2016

Reporting to the Library and Archive Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the cataloguing, classifying and indexing of library material. S/he will assist with the development and implementation of a cataloguing and metadata strategy to encompass a wide variety of analogue and electric content types.

The ideal candidate will hold a qualification of at least level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications and a qualification at level 9 in Library and Information Studies on the National Framework of Qualifications. S/he will have experience of delivering services including cataloguing in an appropriate and demanding customer facing library or information service.
