The large mound at Balleally on the Rogerstown estuary near Rush in north Dublin, has been created over the last twenty five years. During this time part of the estuary has been reclaimed and the local authority has operated Balleally as a land fill site receiving waste from many areas in Fingal. The outcome is the large artificial mound that dwarfs the commuter trains on the Dublin - Drogheda railway line.
