The Bronze Age describes the period in history from 2000 BC until 500 BC. The period marks the transition from the Stone Age to the Iron Age.

During this time, bronze was used for the first time to make axes and other implements. People were farmers in Ireland at this time. Typically, they grew wheat and barley and raised cattle and pigs. They also sometimes raised sheep and goats.
