  The Collection consists of original historic documents and objects relating to the nationalist and republican history of Ireland from 1796 to 1924.  It also contains commemorative material relating to public memorial events relating to the 1916 Rising, and to 1798, 1803, 1867 etc, along with materials on the Restoration of Kilmainham Gaol.  Among specific items in the Collection are: political prisoners' autograph books 1916-1924; prisoners' letters, newspapers, diaries, legal documents, prison fittings, miscellaneous manuscripts; uniforms from 1916–1921, and some personal effects of historic figures. Enquiries to the Archives Department are welcome.
