Holy Island

Holy Island is one of the most famous monastic sites in Ireland. Its many attractions include a well preserved Round Tower, the ruins of seven churches, high crosses, some of the earliest inscription bearing grave markers in the Irish language, a holy well, bullaun stones, a bargaining stone and much more.Holy Island has been a centre of pilgrimage for over twelve hundred years. There are daily trips to holy Island from Mountshannon.
