Cork International Choral Festival

A celebration of the best in vocal music from around the world, Cork International Choral Festival is one of Europe's premier choral festivals. Held annually, the five day event presents an illustrious series of world class Gala Concerts, dozens of free pop-up performances and concerts, prestigious national and international competitions, and education workshops with top choral professionals. Experience a jam packed programme that brings the harmonious tones of over 4,000 voices to bars, galleries and civic spaces around the city each May Bank Holiday weekend, not to mention some of the world’s leading vocal artists which have included The King’s Singers, Scala, and world renowned composer Karl Jenkins. 62nd Cork International Choral Festival 2016

The 62nd edition of the Cork International Choral Festival, Cork’s longest running festival, will take place 27th April to 1st May 2016. Every year Cork welcomes choirs from across the world for a programme of Gala concerts, schools' concerts, National and International competitions, and world-class performances, as thousands of participants bring the city to life for a celebration of choral music in all its many forms. One of Europe's premier international choral festivals, Cork is noted for its high standards, eclectic and wide-ranging programme, and the friendliness of its welcome. Highlights include a series of ticketed Gala concerts which take place over the five days of the festival. Each year some of the finest amateur international choirs are selected to compete for the prestigious Fleischmann International Trophy. The selected choirs also participate in a wide range of festival events, which include Fringe concerts, and informal Public Performances which see choirs popping up throughout Cork in new and unexpected locations throughout the duration of the Festival!
