Mizen Head Signal Station Visitor Centre

The Mizen Head Signal Station Visitor Centre is an award winning maritime attraction in a very scenic location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Open all year, its exhibits cover the early history of maritime telegraphy and radio, the development of modern communication, navigation and safety at sea and modern weather forecasting techniques.

The centre also tells the story of the Mizen Head light house keepers from the 19th century until automation was introduced in 1993. A state of the art bridge simulator demonstrates life aboard modern vessels.

Vistors can avail of guided tours of the locality known for its wildflowers, sea birds, seals, whales and dolphins and spectacular views. The centre caters for coach and bus tours with parking facilities, a café and shop.
