Rivers in South Dublin

Several rivers flow through and rise in South Dublin and are an important aspect of the physical landscape.

One of the most well known rivers flowing through the county is the River Liffey.The River Dodder flows through South Dublin on its way to the sea and the City Weir is situated on it.

Rivers that rise in the county include the Poddle, the Camac, and the River Griffeen. There are also many tributaries of these rivers and streams such as the Owendoher River, Mareens Brook, and Cot Brook.
