Blue Flag Beaches
The prestigious Blue Flag title is awarded annually to beaches that fill certain criteria including water quality, safety, environmental information, facilities etc. The award has been in operation in various countries across Europe since 1987.
Co. Kerry proudly maintains twelve Blue Flag Beaches that are enjoyed by visitors and locals all year. This high standard was given to these beaches in 2009 following inspections by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
