Mountains

While the Slieve Bloom Mountains are predominantly located in Co. Laois, the western edges of the range lie in the north of County Tipperary. These are amongst the oldest mountains in Europe, and while they were once also the highest at 3,700m, weathering has reduced them to just 527m - foothills in comparison to their former glory.

Knockmealdown Mountain

Knockmealdown is the highest mountain in the Knockmealdown Mountains area. The Knockmealdown Mountains are situated at the border of Tipperary and Waterford.

The Knockmealdown Mountains are situated along the border of Co. Tipperary and Co. Waterford. The range is named after its highest peak, Knockmealdown (794m), which is located in Co. Waterford.

The Silvermines Mountains stretch across the borders of Co. Tipperary and Co. Limerick. The highest peak in the Silvermines is known as Keeper Hill at 694ft.
