Ardagh is situated in the baronies of Ardagh and Moydow. This parish is situated in the baronies of Ardagh and Moydow, County Longford. It is bounded by the phs. of Ballymacormick, Templemichael, Killoe, Edgeworthstown, Moydow, Kilglass and Rathreagh in this County and by the ph. of Rathaspick in the Co. of Westmeath. This parish is in a high state of cultivation, with some few patches of bog interspersed. It is well intersected with roads, and has plenty of water. It contains 6 Gentlemens Demensnes, and is very thickly inhabited. It has a village of the same name, in which there are 2 annual fairs. The parish contains 11,419 acres 2 roods 3 perches.

This parish is partly in the barony of Ardagh, and partly in that of Moydow. It is situated 1½ miles S. of the Town of Longford.

Its length and breadth, each 3 miles. Area of the Ardagh Section, 4035 acres; of the Moydow Section, 4800 acres. A large part of the surface is bog; the remainder is, generally, good. 

Cashel Caiseal

"a stone fort"

This parish lies on the east shore of Lough Ree, in the barony of Rathcline. It is bounded by the parishes of Rathcline, Kilcormick and Shrule.

It is nearly circular in form and contains 15,859 acres. The land is of rather a superior quality. It is well intersected with roads and contains a demesne, a neat Church, and a splendid Roman Catholic Chapel.
