Certificate awarded at 1995 commemoration dinner to Kenneth Ruddock, the 1947 winner. The dinner was hosted by Dublin's Lord Mayor to celebrate 70 years of the Liffey Swim and all past winners were invited.

The Kerry mountains always provided an arduous test for the riders. 1955 was a notable year for Kerry as legendary Killorglin-born cyclist,Gene Mangan won the race at the age of 19. Cycling continues to be a popular sport in Kerry.
