Can electricity be made from any of the following ?
Wind- Yes wind turbines can make electricity
Heat from the Sun – Yes solar panels can heat water and they can make electricity in really sunny countries.
The energy of waves - Yes but turbines to do this are only just being invented now.
Oil from crops such as sunflowers and rapeseed - Yes such crops can be grown by farmers.
Wood from forests - Yes and the forests can be replanted each time so they are never all gone.
Water Yes they have a bus in Iceland that runs on water. It is very expensive to run however.
It can be made from all of the above.
Energy can be made from these renewable sources and no carbon dioxide is put into the air.
But in many cases fossil fuels are still the cheapest and so they are used.
