1st August 2012: Vacancy - Assistant Librarian (part time)

John Hand Library, All Hallows College

All Hallows College invites applicants who are seeking a part‐time role for the post of Assistant Librarian. The appointment will be made on the basis of a two‐year, fixed‐term contract.

This role is to act as Assistant Librarian with a particular focus on:

i) cataloguing books in the John Hand Library;

ii) training library users in electronic resources and reference management software;

iii) managing the electronic library system;

iv) the management of the Vincentian Library.

Applicants must have a postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Studies and at least two years professional experience following qualification. Experience of cataloguing (including MARC cataloguing) and familiarity with electronic library systems are essential. The successful candidate will also have strong communication and IT skills. Proven training / teaching skills and experience of working in an academic library are essential.
