24th Oct. 2012: Writing 3.0 - Fingals Annual Writers Festival
The Writing 3.0 festival takes place from the 2nd to the 10th November 2012.
Writing 3.0 Fingal's Annual Writers' Festival co-programmed by Fingal County Libraries and Fingal Arts Office evolved from Finscéal A Writers Trail of Fingal, first established in 2005. Fingal Libraries and Arts Office endeavour to provide aspiring writers with an up to the minute programme of events, workshops, readings and performances.
The shift to Writing 3.0 recognises and encompasses new opportunities that are available to professional and amateur writers alike, from traditional print media to ever changing technological outlets such as social media, blogs, the internet, animation and performance, both in local venues and on the big screen.
Writing 3.0 focuses on the writing process in the twenty-first century; how it evolves from the blank page across a range of interactive and ever-changing technologies associated with creativity that potentially reaches vast audiences.
Fingal County Libraries and Fingal Arts Office aim to provide a voice to professional and amateur writers alike as well as enable aspiring writers, using new and traditional media, to realize their potential via interaction with professional writers and those who write for fun.
