Vacancy: Internship in Paper Conservation at Chester Beatty Library

The Heritage Council and The Chester Beatty Library are offering an internship in paper conservation. The scheme is co-funded by the Heritage Council and the Chester Beatty Library's contributing members; thanks to additional funding from the members will run for twelve months. The internship offers the possibility of professional workplace experience within a prestigious institution.
Details of the internship:
The successful candidate will be involved in every aspect of work carried out in the busy Conservation Laboratory. He/She will work under the supervision of the Librarys Head of conservation, Jessica Baldwin.
Practical projects will be assigned to fit in with the Librarys on-going treatment, exhibition and loan programmes.
The intern will be encouraged to carry out a short research project on an aspect of the collection, the subject of which will be determined once the internship has begun.
The internship is for a period of one year only and will be funded at a rate of 26,700 (subject to PRSI and PAYE). The start date is flexible and can be adjusted to fit the successful candidates existing commitments; however would ideally start in November 2013.
