This appointment will be made on the Assistant Librarian Grade II salary scale at a point in line with current pay policy

Note: Travel expenses to interview will not be covered by Trinity College Dublin

The successful candidate will be expected to play a full role in the departments activities and will be encouraged to develop her/his professional career through research and publication. S/he will also play a role in the departments activities by providing reader service on one evening every other week during term time, and on Saturdays on a rota basis (approximately one Saturday in every 7). Applicants should have a good honours degree and a professional postgraduate qualification. The appointee will have experience in an academic library and/or with Early Printed Book and/or Special Collections. Proficiency in French or another language would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will provide services to scholars in the Early Printed Books Reading Room, assist with enquiries and correspondence, participate in various working groups, initiatives and projects, and collaborate with College and Library staff as required. S/he will catalogue collections using international standards (AACR2, LCSH & MARC21) and direct and supervise interns, placements, Library Assistants, and students as required.
