Vacancy: Collections Support Librarian, UCD

This dual focussed role represents an opportunity (1) to actively engage in all aspects of resource selection, de-selection and description covering print, electronic and digital resources, and including special collections material; and (2) support decision making and the effective functioning of the Library Collections Unit through the design & creation of relevant reports and the analysis and manipulation of bibliographic and usage data.
The Collections Support Librarian will work with schools, colleges and research centres to facilitate all aspects of collection development while recognising the Library College Liaison staff as the primary relationship managers with these academic units.
The post holder will describe UCDs print and electronic collections and have input into the description of new digital collections, including digitized and born digital content. He/she will also contribute to the overall efficacy of the Collections function by designing and implementing procedures, processes, and routines that provided suitably detailed reports in an accurate, consistent and timely manner using the available software applications.
2013 (2010) Salary Scale: 35,043 50,446 p.a.
2013 (2011) Salary Scale: 31,539 45,401 p.a.*
* Subject to all new entrants to public sector as of 01 January 2011
Appointment will be made on the minimum of the scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
