Musical instruments will be made available through the library service...

Music Generation Carlow has teamed up with Carlow Library Service to develop an extensive bank of musical instruments which will be made available through the library service to young people and children in County Carlow.

These musical resources, including - cello, double bass, trombone, trumpet, violin, viola, concert flute, saxophone, clarinet, ukulele, guitar, bodhran, concertina and accordion, will be stored in Carlow Central, Borris and Tullow Libraries and will made available to music generation participants using the library lending system.

Music generation Carlow, part of Music Generation Ireland Irelands National Music Education Programme has implemented a range of music education services for young people in County Carlow.

The first phase of Music Generation Carlow Library Resource is well underway and instruments are available for lending using Carlows network of library branches which facilitates easy access to valuable music resources.

It is hoped that access to these resources will inspire and enable children and young people from all backgrounds and regions of County Carlow to learn to play musical instruments, sing, make music with others and have opportunities to progress to the next level of excellence. This will include establishing performance opportunities locally, regionally and nationally.
