BOOm Young Peoples Arts Festival in Scariff Public Library
Clare County Library
October 27th 30th 2015
First ever BOOm Young Peoples Arts Festival
Artist led art and animation workshops, storytime, crafts and early years music are some of the activities on offer during the mid-term break in Scariff Public Library for the first ever BOOm Young Peoples Arts Festival.
Kicking off the festival on Tuesday 27th October at 10.30am is artist Nathalie El Baba with an imaginative painting workshop for children aged 6-10 years. That afternoon older children age 10+ get a chance to flex their creative muscles with graffiti artist Nick Bromfield leading an expressive drawing workshop at 3.30pm.
On Wednesday 28th October community musician Tembre De Carteret invites children aged 3-5 years to join her making lively music, singing and moving in an early years music workshop at 11.30am.
A two hour stop frame animation workshop will appeal to older children aged 10+ as they work with Emma Samms to create a unique animation piece using lots of different props on Thursday 29th October at 11a.m.
It is the season of all things scary so the festival finishes with two suitably spooky events. On Thursday 29th at 3.30pm children aged 7-11 will make a haunted house and on Friday 30th at 3.30pm younger children ages 3-6 years can listen to some not-too-scary Halloween stories and decorate a witches cat craft.
All of the events take place in Scariff Public Library and are free of charge but booking is required. Phone the library on 061-922893.
