The person appointed shall be responsible for the working and the administration of the Library services for the Local Authority.

The County Librarian formulates overall objectives and policies and plans for the future of the service, continuously determines the organisational framework of the library in a very challenging environment, and makes decisions and balances and coordinates all staff and activities into a smoothly running operation, constantly evaluating what is going on.

The successful candidate will be directly responsible to a member of the senior management team at Director of Service level.
