The Sub-Librarian (Teaching & Research Support and User Experience) will provide leadership and strategic direction to the Teaching & Research Support Section, to innovate an outstanding informational service delivery to our users. The role will develop strategic and operational plans for teaching & research support and the user experience, working closely with our customers. The post will coordinate, manage and lead the activity of the Subject Librarians, working with the other heads of the Readers Services sections working to ensure that the services provided are appropriate and consistent across all the Schools.
S/he will develop relationships with School Heads and Directors and respond to developments in teaching, learning and research by providing appropriate support and resources. S/he will build partnerships with other academic support services, such as IT Services, and the Centre for Academic Practice and Student Learning (CAPSL) to provide a more seamless approach for users. This user support will be in the context of working with colleagues laterally across the Library, including Research Collections and Collection Management. The incumbent will work alongside Readers Services Division colleagues to plan and develop 24/7 delivery of services, including virtual reference services.
