Carlow County Library has a comprehensive collection of books, newspapers and printed heritage items, maps, images and manuscripts of Carlow interest. Access to these collections is through the Local Studies Department, the Carlow County Council website at www.carlow.ie and the www.askaboutireland.ie portal. The collections are promoted through exhibitions and other cultural events. There is a special focus during National Heritage Week in September. Organised group visits from Carlow schools and other bodies are encouraged throughout the year.
