King's Inns Archives

Although The Honorable Society of King’s Inns (King’s Inns) was founded in 1541, the earliest formal records date from 1607. The records contain useful information on the social and economic history of Dublin as well as the administration and members of the Inns. The admission papers of students, apprentices, attorneys and barristers are an important genealogical resource. The Prendergast papers are an important source for 17th century Ireland, and there are collections of Irish language and legal manuscripts.
