Derrynane House

Derrynane House is the ancestral home of Daniel O Connell, lawyer, politician and statesman. Situated on 120 hectares of parklands on the Kerry coast, the house displays many relics of O Connell’s life and career. The house however, is more than a museum to the Liberator. Extensive gardens have been developed adjacent to the house with many exotic plants including a fine collection from South America. The Park includes nearly 1.5 kilometres of sandy and rocky shoreline including Abbey Island with the remains of the medieval abbey of Ahamore.
