Coelenterates

Coelenterates – Sea Anemones, Jellyfish and Comb Jellies

Sea anemones, jellyfish and comb jellies, the three main groups of invertebrate animals that make up the coelenterates, represent the next level of organisation in the animal kingdom from the single-celled protozoa. Imagine a single sheet make up of protozoa all joined together, and then fold that sheet into the shape of a bag with one opening. Now you have the basic form of all jellyfish, corals, sea anemones and comb jellies.
