(c) Annette KellyThe Dingle Peninsula is the most northerly of the Kerry peninsulas. The Iveragh Peninsula is across Dingle Bay to the south, the Atlantic Ocean is to the north and the Blasket Islands are just off the western tip of the Dingle Peninsula.
Slieve Mish Mountains, Co. Kerry
The Slieve Mish mountains straddle the base of the Dingle Peninsula and overlook Tralee Bay to the north and Dingle Bay to the south. The range is about 20km long and the highest peak is Bautregaum at 851 m.

(c) Annette KellySouth of the town of Tralee and Tralee Bay are the Slieve Mish mountain range forming a spine through the centre of the base of the Dingle peninsula. Further west are a series of mountains and hills including Mount Bandon at 953m in height. There are several towns and villages on the peninsula including Dingle after which the Dingle Peninsula is named.

(c) Annette KellyRoads and trails take walkers over hills and mountains with scenic views especially at the Conor Pass on the road between Dingle and Bandon Bay. There are large beaches at Ventry and Inch on the south side and Ballyferriter, Bandon Bay and Tralee Bay on the north side of the Dingle Peninsula.
The area is also known as a Gaeltacht or Irish speaking region and also attracts sailors, anglers and swimmers.
