Quaternion Plaque on Broombridge
A photo of the quaternion plaque on Broombridge. William Rowan Hamilton discovered his famous mathematical formula for multiplying quaternions on 16 October 1843 while walking along the towpath of the Royal Canal with his wife. He later claimed to have carved the formula on a stone on Broombridge. This plaque commemorates the occasion.

An old postcard showing Kenure House. This big house was demolished in 1978. The six columns at the entrance to the house were the only parts that were left standing. They remain in St. Catherine's housing estate in Rush, which was built on the site of Kenure House.

Queen Victoria was born in 1819. She became Queen in 1837 after her father, Edward, died and was the longest reigning monarch in British history. She reigned for almost sixty-four years. She visited Dublin in 1900.
