Housed in a late Victorian gothic style church used by the Methodists until 1973, Greyfriars Municipal Art Gallery is home to the Waterford Municipal Art Collection, which includes paintings by Jack B. Yeats, Paul Henry, Evie Hone, and Louis Le Brocquy. Exhibitions based on a selection of municipal artworks are displayed throughout the year. Contemporary art shows are occasionally displayed.

Statue of IRA Leader Sean Russell (1893-1940)
At Cashel Folk Museum the World War II-era IRA leader Sean Russell (1893-1940) is commemorated. During the Second World War, while the Irish Free State remained neutral and many Irishmen fought on the Allied side, Sean Russell sought German support for the political unification of Ireland. He died aboard a German U-boat and was buried at sea off the coast of Co. Galway.
