Cashel Folk Museum
Cashel Folk Village features historical retrospectives of the Irish revolutionary period 1916-1923, the Great Irish Famine 1845-1851. Also featured is a penal chapel containing religious artifacts, the original Croke Memorial that commemorates Archbishop Croke of Cashel and Emly who was a founding member of the Gaelic Athletic Association, a traditional 'tinker' caravan and a 19th century 'brougham' carriage. Of further interest is a statue of the controversial World War II-era IRA leader Sean Russell (1893-1940), a replica blacksmith's forge and information about Catholic clergyman John Lanigan (1758-1825).

Power Section, Clare Museum, Arthur’s Row, Ennis, Co. Clare
Power Section, Clare Museum, Arthur’s Row, Ennis, Co. Clare
This section deals with the symbols of power to be found in the county. In Clare these range from the dramatic Mooghaun hillfort to the numerous castles and towerhouses in the county. Land is one of the most potent sources of power and here the major influences of control over the land are examined. The influence of the O'Briens, and the emergence of Eamon de Valera as a political figure is also dealt with here.
