Blennerville is Ireland´s only commercially operated windmill. It is also the tallest of its kind in Europe: 21.3 metres high. This 18th century windmill is now open to the public. Ross Castle is typical of the strongholds of the Gaelic Irish and was built by the O'Donoghue Ross clan during the Middle Ages. There is a fortified bawn, curtain defensive walls and circular towers. A barrack building was added in the 18th century. The castle features examples of furniture from the 16th and 17th centuries. The castle is popular with visitors during the summer months.
