Newspaper advertisement for Turkish Baths appeared in The Waterford News in 1886. Prices for baths ranged from 1/= to 2/= each. There was a special offer on Saturdays between 6pm and 8pm. Baths taken between these times cost 6d each.

Turkish Baths Liquidation Notice
Notice of liquidation of The Turkish Baths Company dated December 1909 as it appeared in the Waterford News. The Baths had been closed due to an outbreak of fever in the city.

Richard Mulcahy (1886 – 1971)
Richard Mulcahy fought in the 1916 Rising and was elected Minister for Defence in the 1918 election. Mulcahy supported the Anglo-Irish Treaty in 1921 and later served as leader of Fine Gael. He was also Minister for Education from 1948 until 1951.

Roger Casement (1864–1916)
Roger Casement was one of the founders of the Irish Volunteers in 1913. Following his mission to raise arms and troops in Germany, he was arrested by British forces in Co. Kerry in 1916 and brought to London where he was executed on 3 August 1916.

Arthur Griffith (1871 – 1922)
Griffith joined the Irish Volunteers in 1912. Although not involved in the 1916 Rising, he was imprisoned with those who fought, due to the government's perception that his writings encouraged nationalist fervour. He was part of the first Dáil in 1919 and was elected vice-president of the republic. After the truce in the War of Independence in July 1921, Griffith lead the Irish delegation in London. This resulted in the Anglo-Irish Treaty of 6 December 1921. He died of a brain haemorrhage in Dublin on 12 August 1922.

Michael Collins (1890 - 1922)
Michael Collins took part in the Easter Rising of 1916 and was later appointed Minister for Finance. He was part of the delegation that negotiated the Anglo-Irish Treaty in 1921, the terms of which led to the Irish Civil War in 1922. Collins became the commander-in-chief of the Government forces. He was killed in Cork on August 22 1922.

Eamon De Valera (1882 - 1975)
De Valera served in public office from 1917 to 1973. He founded the Fianna Fáil Party in 1926 and served two terms as Irish President from 1959 until 1973.

Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa (1831 - 1915)
Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa was a Fenian leader and a member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood. He was accused of planning a Fenian Rising in 1865 and subsequently imprisoned for eight years. O'Donovan Rossa died in New York in 1915.

Rory O'Connor (1883 – 1922)
Rory O'Connor fought in the Easter Rising in 1916 and later became Director of Engineering in IRA. He opposed the Anglo-Irish Treaty of 1921 and was executed on 8 December 1922 in retaliation for the killing of the pro-treaty TD, Sean Hales.

Kevin O'Higgins (1892-1927)
O'Higgins joined the Irish Volunteers in 1915 and supported the signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty in 1921. He became Minister for Home Affairs in 1922 and established the Garda Síochána in 1923. O'Higgins was shot on 10 July 1927 by members of the IRA.
