Edward Bunting
Edward Bunting was one of the major collectors of Irish traditional music. He was commissioned to notate the music played at the 1792 Belfast Harp Festival, and continued to collect the 'Ancient Music of Ireland' for the rest of his life.

O Carolan Harp, Cultural and Heritage Festival 2000
The programme of events for the 13th annual festival celebrating O Carolan in his native Nobber lists the lecture topic, the harp workshop and competitions, the traditional concert and other events which took during the festival of 2000. The festival dates that year were from the 29th of September to the 1st of October.

O Carolan Harp, Cultural and Heritage Festival 2000 -
Éamonn Ceannt
A member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood, and later a founding member of the Irish Volunteers Éamonn Ceannt was a master of the uilleann pipes. He even put on a performance for Pope Pius X.

Commemoration of Turlough O'Carolan, 1988
The harp festival at Nobber started in 1988 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the death of Turlough O Carolan. O Carolan was born in 1670 in the townland of Spiddal near Nobber. He contracted smallpox resulting in blindness in his teens and following training to play the harp he embarked on an itinerant career composing and playing for his patrons. O Carolan died in 1738.

This beautiful harp was hand-crafted by master instrument maker Jan Muyllaert of Ardbraccan, Navan. It forms a fitting backdrop to festival events.

Each year the Festival at Nobber includes a concert at which a large group of harpers and other musicians perform. Here the group is assembled in Nobber Community Hall.

Peter Gallegan Memorial Stone
The poet and scribe and scholar Peter Gallegan (1792-1860) from Ardamagh, near Nobber, was commemorated in 1992. A new stone was placed on his grave in old Kilmainhamwood graveyard and his descendants were invited to the unveiling ceremony.

Harp lesson with Dearbhail Finnegan at Nobber
The Meath Harp School was set up under the auspices of the Harp Festival to provide expert tuition to harp students. Dearbhail Finnegan teaches the harp and has brought students to a high level of competency.
