Temperature and precipitation projections
Temperature
The maps above show the projected changes in mean temperature for winter, spring, summer and autumn for 2041-2060 relative to 1981-2000 for the high emission scenario. The projections indicate an increase in the order of 1.5 degrees C for summer, but, surprisingly perhaps, an increase in the order of 1.7 degrees C for winter in the north and north eastern zone.
Precipitation
The maps above show the projected changes in precipitation for the four seasons for 2041-2060 relative to 1981-2000 for the high emission scenario. Increases in winter and autumn precipitation can be seen, particularly during winter on the western seaboard and southern regions, while a decrease in precipitation is evident in spring and summer.
