Cloone

Cloone - Cluain, Good Pasturage, "a green arable spot"

The village of Cloone is situated roughly in the centre of a rectangular parish, north and south, by about four miles, which is bisected by the Mohill-Carrigallen road. The village is situated astride a low ridge just north of the main road. The north and eastern districts of the parish are hilly but the central plain probes the tip of a finger into the southern portion.
