Genealogical Resources available in Waterford
'In all of us there is a hunger marrow deep to know our heritage, to know who we are and where we came from. Without this enriching knowledge there is a hollow yearning. No matter what our attainment in life, there is still a vacuum, emptiness, and the most disquieting loneliness' Haley, Alex, 'What Roots Means to Me' Readers's Digest Vol. 110 May 1977 pp 73-74
Once upon a time genealogy was very much an aristocratic pursuit when royal, religious and aristocratic pedigrees were recorded. Genealogy has now shaken off its upper class association and has become a mass pursuit. Researching family history or finding one's roots has become one of the most popular hobbies of our time.
