Evie Hone was born in Dublin in 1894. She studied art in London and later in Paris.

Evie also spent some time in Holland. There she studyied with the famous stained glass artist Professor Roland Holst. After this visit to Holland, she began to design her own stained glass.

She preferred her art work to stay in Ireland. For this reason, many churches in Ireland have stained glass windows by Evie Hone e.g. the Catholic Church in Howth, the chapel at Clongowes Wood School, the Chapel in Blackrock College Dubin, and the Catholic Church at Adara in Donegal.

Evie was also a well known cubist painter.
