Sites of Interest

The Ardmore to Cashel walk is approximately 56 miles and known in its full extent as 'St Declan's Way', reflecting the links between St. Declan of Ardmore who Christianised this area in the period 350-450 A.D. and Cashel, seat of the Kings of Munster at this time. There is a strong tradition of pilgrimage on these routes, who followed the paths of holy men and traders. These include the 'Rian' and 'St. Declan's Way'.

The routes intersect sites and features of ecclesiastical, historical and local interest which are identified and listed on each of the four segments which comprise the walk.
